A new beginning...

Welcome, I have blogged once before a few years back and am now making a come back (kind of like Bret Favre) I want to start blogging again for a number of reasons. One, I like to document what I do, I hope that the things I set out to do encourage other people to do things too, even if it is as crazy as an Ironman. Two, I have a BA in Journalism and, in today's world, traditional journalism is taking a backseat to new age journalism, or social media. A part of my New Year's resolution was to use my degree, ultimately with a job/internship, but in the mean time, I will use my degree on my own time; to gain experience and get my name out in the social media world. I also have another addition to the blog which is in the works...stay tuned. I am a triathlete and like many others I have the ultimate goal of racing, and doing well, in Kona, or for those that don't know what is meant by 'Kona,' it is the Ironman World Championships. And to break it down even further an Ironman is a 2.4 mile swim, followed by a 112 cruise on a bike, then a 26.2 mile stroll on feet! And the second part to my New Year's resolution is that I am only allowing myself ONE, 1, uno, glass of red wine, perhaps a beer, a month until I race that special race! Sure, call me crazy, or whatever you want to call me, but maybe that is why I do somethings...because people say it cannot be done. There you have it, my third reason to start blogging again: getting to Kona...the ups, the downs, the highs, the lows, and everything else you can think of. I also want to write about what you want to know, so ask me questions, about anything, and I will have an answer for you!
